Our Chapter History
Good timing made all the difference! In 2014, two moms, one with a rising Sophomore and one with a rising 7th grader, neither knowing the other, daringly hit the [Enter] button on their computers and sent in an application to start a National Charity League, Inc. chapter in their respective communities.
National Charity League, Inc. asked these two moms to join forces to begin a chapter that would encompass the communities of El Segundo, Playa Del Rey, Playa Vista and Westchester. These moms, founding patronesses, Karen Garipay and Grace Pak, then gathered together 7 friends from their respective communities who shared the same vision and mission to form the founding board of the Beachside Chapter of National Charity League, Inc.
On August 31, 2015, with 4 grade level classes of founding Ticktockers and founding Patronesses filling the meeting room, the Beachside Chapter officially became the 208th chapter of National Charity League, Inc. whose boundaries include mothers and daughters residing in, or attending school in the communities of El Segundo, Playa Del Rey, Playa Vista and Westchester. Today, the Beachside Chapter has all 6 grade level Ticktocker classes and near 200 members with a mission to foster the mother-daughter relationship in a philanthropic organization committed to community service, leadership development and cultural experiences.
